I have been using the POLE ONLINE Portal for several years now and have not seen anything similar to it yet. I believe that it certainly justifies the Avgust employees’ time and effort. For the company, it means a chance to showcase the efficiency of its products, to obtain the results and to make conclusions. Working in manufacturing, we follow the test results and introduce new Avgust products the next year. We actively develop and follow cutting-edge technologies. It is of supreme importance for us to be one step ahead of our competitors. The portal helps us to achieve this aim. With its assistance, we better apply efficient chemical products supervised by Avgust technical experts, we pay more attention to their advice and it has a positive impact on our crop yields.
Our cooperation with the AFT Digital Agency can be called a breakthrough in modern agricultural information technology. POLE-ONLINE (pole-online.com), a technological support portal, is a good example of that. It is a unique project providing agronomical support where agricultural technicians give real time advice on rearing crops, where one can find all the necessary conditions for the opinion exchange and experts’ comments. The technical implementation of the project was performed very efficiently and in due time. For many years now, the portal has been a useful tool for agriculturalists. For sure, such unique projects help the company to further develop on the market and as a result, they increase their sales. I would like to specifically mention Sergey Puponin who never fails to take into account our needs, quite complicated at times, and suggests interesting solutions which would have never come to our minds. Another expert from the agency who assists us a lot is Svetlana Trapeznikova. Together with her colleagues, she gets solved a whole array of large, small and most incredible tasks that we sent her nearly every day, all that efficiently and timely.
All AFT Digital employees who we are working with are very nice, communicative people and above all, real experts in what they do. We hope to continue our cooperation and to implement many more interesting and useful projects.
The most challenging part of the project was the constant shift from the initial tasks as we were working on it. Having started to work on one issue, we soon realized that our client needed something entirely different. We began to get into the core of the project, thus receiving more and more details of the project in real time. We maintained a continuous dialogue with our clients and created the portal by putting the microtasks together into a whole piece. Despite all the difficulties, we worked together calmly, closely and accurately. I believe one of the most important qualities of a manager is his\her ability to build relations with clients when we are “in the same boat,” striving to achieve the same mutually beneficial goal.
Speaking about the technical side of the project, it meant close interaction and exchange of an enormous amount of data, mainly numerous interactive spreadsheets with the database of changing figures and a complex algorithm of their interconnections. It was extremely meticulous work, a trial of one’s patience and endurance since it was necessary to collect the data and set the tasks keeping all the tiny details together, otherwise all the mechanism would have fallen apart. The testing stage was particularly difficult as we had to try several scenarios and not to leave anything out.
Finally, our efforts resulted in a resource which was successfully launched with the minimal number of technical complaints after its release. This is especially significant if we take into account the fact that the portal’s audience is agriculturalists aged 40+ with no secure expertise in IT solutions.
At present, the project keeps running on its own, it doesn’t require urgent interference, there are no people queuing at the support line and waiting for their technical problems to be solved. Our further work with the portal includes its comprehensive development and introduction of updates and improvements.
“The agricultural sector is a highly intensive field which many of its representatives call “survival of the fittest.” In many regions, arable farming implies taking huge risks and in many cases they are not necessarily connected to disastrous weather events. Technological mistakes can also cause losses for enterprises.”
